My father is 56 year old he did a self routine test and his lipoprotien A came out to be 66 mg/dl. Which ia high i guess. 2-3 years back he had done engiogram and calcium score and his echo tmt was normal his engiogram was normal and his calcium score was 7 in one of the arteries as far as i remember and 0 in all the rest. Should he be worried about heqrt disease. Lipopotien high means he at risk of heart disease?

Hello,
High lipoprotein puts the patient at risk of future heart disease. But considering his near normal reports there is nothing to panic about. The decision of starting medicine depends on his overall ASCVD risk which depends on many factors like age gender BP, blood sugar , smoking status and total cholesterol, LDL and HDL cholesterol. So whether he needs medicines for this or just lifestyle modifications depends on overall risk percentage. I need above details for his risk assessment and further advice
