Recently my sister has diagnosed with leprosy...
There some patches near collar bone and chest area..
Skin test result is negative...
But doctor confirmed this is leprosy and it is in mild stage by touch and feel of shoulder joint nerves and knee joint nerves.
Started a medication which should continued for 6 months and 12 months.
1) Doctor suggested we should postpone marrige plans for one year if any since this a transferable disease
Do this really required?
2) my sister myself amd our parents living together does this effects is?
3) is this disease geneticall? My mother told she face similar problem before marriage and it got cured by following medication for 6months. If this is a geneticall what is the chances of getting this disease for me and my future family

It is a infection which can spread by touching the infected area of skin. It is not a genetic problem. It will be cured by medication as advised by the treating doctor.
