Leg swelling Lymphodema
During surgical treatment for cervical cancer, doctors removed the lymph glands near right leg. We have been using compression stockings and lymphapress but swelling of the leg keeps on increasing for last 4 years. No pain or itching but size of the leg keeps on growing big and stiff. Doctors after the scans have confirmed nothing is blocked in veins but just the lymph fluid is not going back. Is there a way I can get rid of the swelling by manually removing the lymph or something?

Hello There. Lymph is not something which you can remove manually. it needs to be passed by the lymphatic channels. compression stockings, lymphapress help a lot. apart from what you are doing, foot end elevation while you sleep or sit can help. all you need to do is put pillows under your feet when you sleep and when you sit with the legs extended. take all your medications regularly. best regards, Dr. Anil Kumar Jain
