This is regarding my mother ,age 50, with bp and sugar issue, having very weak eyesight. I would like to know if she could have a laser operation and is there any complication for the same too.

Yes Long standing Diabetes can affect eyes , she will need dilated eye examination to rule out Diabetic retinopathy and also cataract. Cataract can be treated by surgery and depending upon condition of retinopathy further follow up and treatment plan can be made.
