Asked for Female, 39 Years

I cut my hand on a Stanley knife on Friday I had 3 stitches in & a dressing put on, I can move my thumb however since then my thumb is numb & the cut itself & just under it causes a electric shock type pain, I don't want to waste anyone's time if this is normal but am concerned that maybe I had done some damage to my nerve.

Yes you are right sometimes a nerve could have got damaged You should consult a hand surgeon or a plastic surgeon immediately as it is better to repair a nerve now then to wait and then reconstruct it later
