Joint pain
My mother she is 62 year s old from last 2 years she complained of mild pain in her joint legs but now it is in serious stage.She is using some herbal oil which gives her temporary relief but couple of hours as it is. While I insist to visit doctor but she fear's doctor may advice for operation. Kindly advice.

Hello. From your description, it seems she is suffering from knee osteoarthritis. Although joint replacement is the ideal treatment, there are other options like viscosupplentation for her, which is non-operative and gives reasonable enough pain relief. Contact any rheumatologist or orthopedician for opinion. With adequate treatment, medicines and physiotherapy, she can live a near-normal life. Hope this helps.

Hello There. I can understand your concern. if you keep fearing that a doctor may advise for operation, will you keep postponing ? a doctor will advise only if she needs it, she can deny surgery if she doesn't want to. kindly consult a orthopaedic surgeon in person for further evaluation and management it may be osteoarthritis.
