Is omna cortil safe
Hello sir I am 17 weeks pregnant . I was suffering from shortness of breath from past 2 weeks. I had continuous suffocation . It was so worst I had not slept for days. One of my doctor friend told me to take omna cortil 10 mg and theo/ asthalin for 4 days. Now am feeling fine after taking tablets. But am worried wil it harm my baby. Or my suffocation for last 2 weeks has it caused any harm to my baby. Please help. Am worried

Hello, I went through your query, Prednisone (omnicortil) and other corticosteroids given by mouth during pregnancy slightly increase the risk of premature birth, low birth weight and pre-eclampsia, a condition that raises the mother's blood pressure and puts both child and mother at risk for severe complications. However, given the potentially dangerous effects of severe asthma on the mother and fetus, including lack of oxygen, the use of oral or inhaled corticosteroids during pregnancy should not be withheld. Please consult MD, medicine physician and your gynecologist to go for another alternative for asthma before taking prednisone.
