About a week ago, I stepped on a dead mouse on the street. I was wearing shoes. It might have been killed by a rabid dog. Immediately I stepped on my car seat. Then I kept my phone's leather wallet case on it. I used the case to speak on the phone, putting the leather on my ear. Is there any chance the virus can spread in that way?

You should not fear unnecessarily. There is no chance of rabies as such but you must maintain high standards of general hygienic measures to avoid any other infection.
