Is Bromhexine Elixir approved medicine

Asked for Male, 34 Years

Hi all, Recently I have come to know from a social media that Bromhexine Elixir syrup works well for initial stage of Covid 19 patient. Is this medicine recommended to use under prescribed. Though there is no one in my family were effected with Covid 19, I would like to know for preventive purpose. -Thank you all medics Srisaran
