Irritable Bowel Syndrome Constipation

Most of the doctors say,Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a Psychosomatic Stress Disorder..There may be so many reasons except this...I don't Know Whether it can be cured Permanently or not...I have been suffering from IBS C for a long time and taking the above mentioned medicines..I have visited so many doctors (Gastroenterologist, Psychiatrist, Homoeopathic , Ayurvedic etc.)for this..I am very much confused right now..I am not getting permanent relief from this.. Only a psychiatrist can cure or manage IBS...Is it true?... Psychiatric medicines have so many side effects..Can a Gastroenterologist cure or manage IBS? Please Guide me...

usually medical gastroenterologist treats the ibs. if you have underlying stress he/she may refer you to psychiatrist for that stress. otherwise medical gastroenterologist to follow up regularly.
