My mother is having a problem of artial fibrillation since 2 years...some doctors say that pacemaker will help in it and others say that medicine will be sufficient.

Atrial fibrillation is irregularly irregular heart beat.
Two strategies are there rate control and rhythm control. Both the strategic have positive and negative features.
In only some of the features pacemaker is indicated.
It depends on duration of atrial fibrillation and structural changes in underlying heart.
