Dear Doctor, I have been experiencing intermittent episodes where I feel a loss of my internal bodily awareness. For example, when I run quickly, my heart rate increases and I experience palpitations, yet during these moments, I also feel a kind of numbness or disconnection from my internal sensations. Additionally, when I focus on my breathing during these episodes, I sometimes feel as if I am having difficulty breathing, although this sensation usually resolves after a short time.
I have also noticed occasional moments of reduced balance, where I feel as though I might trip. I sometimes feel tightness or squeezing in my head. At times, my heart rate suddenly increases, which appears to be accompanied by a feeling of panic.
I do not have any known breathing issues, but I am concerned that these symptoms may be related to stress, potential spinal issues, or another underlying condition. It may be relevant that I work as a software developer, which requires sitting for long.
