Have started fitness training which includes climbing 3 * 12 flights of stair two at a time, 3 flights of stair two feet at a time along with step ups 3 times a week. If you do not have pre existing knee pain meaning soft cartilage, surely, exercising and climbing stairs will not cause long term problems, it can be beneficial if continued.
