Both SSRIs and Depsonil / spectra / olimelt are effective medications for years treatment of anxiety and depression. However, the effectiveness varies individually and whether a person responds or not to a particular treatment depends on a lot of factors like past history of response to treatment, any ongoing psychological stressor, any comorbid medical illness and so on. SSRIS are generally safer when compared to TCAs ie Depsonil. Side effects of the medications thar you are currently prescribed may range from increased weight, sedation, urinary disturbance, cardiac problems.however not all the Patients who take these medicines suffer from the side effects. People are able to continue these medications for long term without any significant side effects.
Please do not alter or stop the medication author discussing with your psychiatrist. If you have any concerns regarding these medicines please talk to your psychiatrist.
