I have a glaucoma for pressure 20 to 22
Hello! Recently my father got diagnosise by glaucoma and docter said it is around 20 to 22 . So he is worried about cure. Do he need to go for surgery for this, or it can be cured by medications treatment. He is very regular to take the medications , daily takes tge eyedrops since last 20 years for eye. Hr is having a catract in his left eye, so also worried about catract operation. Kindly suggest a good treatment for this glaucoma, do he need to worry about this?. Also what about catract in left eye, can he go gor operation? Any test to be performed?

Hello A. For cataract, only option is surgery B. For glaucoma, we need to see if it is primary angle closure glaucoma , primary open angle or other type of glaucoma. Medicines are preferred choice for glaucoma. Surgery is required only in few patients and that too when medical treatment fails.
