Hi doc, my serum total protein is 6.4, serum Albumin is 3.37, A:G ratio is 1.11 and my consulting gynae told me it's very low and will affect the baby growth. Could you please advise how to increase it and would it hamper baby's growth?

Your Total protein is at the lower end of normal and the serum albumin is very slightly lower than the lower normal limit. You need some good protein supplementation from your diet, minimum protein requirement is 60 g/day for you. You can start with protein rich food, like dal, beans, pulses, milk, curd, cheese eggs and meat. I’m sure your gynaecologist would have recommended a diet chart, else you can contact a nutritionist and have a consultation.
Baby requires proteins for body growth and hormones and enzymes, so it’s ideal for a pregnant woman to have a high protein diet ideally 60 to 100g of proteins per day.
