GERD is an intrinsic defect of the junction of food pipe with stomach. It may very rarely cause ulcers in buccal cavity. However, based on your symptoms, you should see a ENT doctor for the ulcer management. A chronic ulcer may require a biopsy. As for GERD, you will need management with medications first and evaluation with endoscopy. Very rarely with resistant GERD, patients require a surgical repair of the weak valve in food pipe.
