Hypertensives are advised a DASH diet.and its been proved as the best dietary practice for most non communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetes etc by american heart association. And search for DASH diet on internet and tailor a good approach which is suitable for you. If he was hospitalised then i assume a proper diagnosis has been made. If not consult another doctor who can diagnose and treat better. diagnosis of hypertension is not made in a single visit or hospitalisation.
