How to relieve calf pain
Hi my son is 13 year old and plays football. He has been complaining of calf pain since a week. I have tried applying ointments and hot fomentation but it gave only temporary relief to him. Kindly guide what other treatment should I give him so he gets relieved of the pain.

There are some conservative options such as: -Rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE) is good for immediate treatment of muscle issues in the first 48 to 72 hours after you notice tightness and pain. Try using an ice pack for 20 minutes every two hours while resting and elevating the leg. -Over-the-counter medications Over-the-counter pain medications may relieve any pain you have. -Physical therapy If your calves are chronically tight, you may want to try physical therapy. A physiotherapist can prescribe customized stretches, exercises, and other treatments to help with anything from pain to muscle imbalances. -Massage therapy Massage therapy is another option. A massage therapist uses their hands to manipulate the body’s muscles and soft tissues, helping with anything from pain to muscle tension if these methods dont seem to provide adequate relief an orthopaedician examination would be needed to rule out any other possible conditions
