How to Fix Achilles Tendonitis
I had a long walk 15 km in one day. Next day I waled 3kms as since I am not able to walk without experiencing pain in heel muscles. There is no inflammation. Walking short distance (20-50mtrs) is fine but 10minutes walk brings the pain back. I have taken 5days rest but it is not helping.

Sudden activity inflames your muscles and tendons. Some tendons and muscles.take longer to come back to normalcy. Achilles tendon is notorious for taking a very long time to settle down. Regularly stretch the tendon and also the calf muscles. Use cold compress 2-3 times a day. Take anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac, as long as you do not have any gastritis/asthma/allergies to those medications. Avoid sudden increase in activity but make sure you continue to do regular and gentle activity. Avoid any sports. You have to give it 6-8 weeks with this regime, for it to get better. Hope this helps. Dr Vinu Raj Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon MBBS MRCS FRCS(Trauma&Orth)
