Hormonal acne
I am having cystic acne on my cheeks. It's not very severe but it keeps reoccurring at the same spots.it is slightly painful and red in color. today I consulted my dermatologist and he prescribed Isotroin- 20. I am a bit sceptical about having this medicine as it has a lot of side effects. I wanted to know if it's safe to use and will it have an side effects later when I decide to get pregnant. Also will my acne aggrevate once I stop taking the dosage as prescribed by my dermatologist. Will it have any major effect on my skin color or appearance and will I have a major hair loss during or after the course of the medication?

All drugs have side effects.  Even paracetamol which is taken for fever can have side effects.  Isotroin is fda approved for cystic acne. It does have not have side effects with proper monitoring, and should give wondrous results for you.  Continue as advised by the doctor.  You are not supposed to get pregnant while on this drug and till 3 months after you have stopped it. No side effects are known to occur on future pregnancies.
