Hit the top of my head hard
I hit the top of my head hard last night as I bent under the garage door that was going up to get into the garage. I didn't lose consciousness, and there was no blood on my head., and no vomiting etc. however I have a burning sensation and slight headache. Is this something serious? Doctor at ER said it wasn't a consussion. How do I know if there is internal bleeding? Also should I stop taking birth control pills for now?

The burning sensation and pain is likely due to the trauma to the head and the muscles in the area. To rule out any internal bleeding or fractures you can do a CT scan. I would advise you to apply some ice over the area for 10-15 minutes for 3-4 times a day. You will need painkillers to control the pain immediately. Kindly do observe yourself and if you the see any danger signs such as loss of consciousness for a few seconds to a few minutes, no loss of consciousness, but a state of being dazed, confused or disoriented, Headache, Nausea or vomiting, Fatigue or drowsiness, Problems with speech, Difficulty sleeping and Sleeping more than usual you should visit the ER at the earliest.
