High TSH in Pregnancy
My wife was expecting period on 21st Aug however she missed it then she did pregnancy test and it was postive. Next day she went for thyroid test and T3 and T4 was in normal range however TSH was 20.7 which is higer than required one. Does this high TSH will affect her pregnancy and can she take TSH medicine during pregnancy? Kindly suggest.

She should immediately start thyroid medication as tsh is v high. Thyronorm has no side effects...if she doesn't take there will b consequences like increased chance of abortion , delayed brain development etc.  Tsh should be less than 2.5 in first trimester.and less than 3 in second n third trimester . She should start 125 mcg daily empty stomach ..repeat her tsh after a month so that dose can be adjusted.
