High LDH beta thalassemia trait
My nephew was suffering from high bilirubin 3.2 for last 3 months. He has followed proper diet like boiled food, vegetables, fruits and plenty of water but his bilirubin is still 3.2. All other parameters in LFT are normal except that bilirubin. Be specific indirect bilirubin is higher in all tests than direct bilirubin. Recent CBC indicates he has beta thalassemia trait as  hbA2 is high as 5.2. Also, we have done LDH, result is 351 u/l. That is also higher than reference. Now we are really tensed what is the exact probelm. Please explain us these report results. Are high LDH and high bilirubin is normal for beta thalassemia trait person or is it some dangerous disease? Can anyone please guide as in this situation? What kind of specialist doctor we need to consult? Thanks in advance
