Hello, CRP c reactive protein which is acute phase reactant suggestive of infection or inflammation . It's considered in suspected infection in new born where even culture blood culture shows negative . Sometimes blood culture will not show bacterial due to maternal intrapartum IV antibiotics , late onset sepsis .So antibiotics are given to be in safer side .
