Iam 35 yrs old with 11 week pregnancy. Today I was diagnosed with hepatitis C virus (rapid) positive . Are hepatitis C virus common during pregnancy ? Iam confused plz help

hello, no hepatitis c is not common infection in pregnancy.Hepatitis C is a liver infection caused by the Hepatitis C virus (HCV). Hepatitis C is a blood-borne virus.The virus is spread by contact with contaminated blood, for example, from sharing needles or from unsterile tattoo equipment. Most people have no symptoms. Those who do develop symptoms may have fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite and yellowing of the eyes and skin. hepatitis C is a short-term illness but for 70%–85% of people who become infected with Hepatitis C, it becomes a long-term, chronic infection. Chronic Hepatitis C is a serious disease than can result in long-term health problems, even death. The majority of infected persons might not be aware of their infection because they are not clinically ill. Hepatitis C is treated with antiviral medications. In some people, newer medicines can eradicate the virus. please consult a gastroenterologist or a consultant physician.
