Oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF) is a condition where a fibrous band formation starts in the inner side of the cheek. It is curable but need a lot of dedication and motivation as the results may take a longer time to be actually visible. You are having the condition for past 5 years, and maybe having a severe grade. So, you need to be focused and motivated. The prescription you told is fine and I think you have just started with the treatment process. * I have personally seen cases who have severe OSMF but they stay focused and motivated and do recover.
Next Steps
Go for regular dental recall visits and don't get disheartened. Consult an oral medicine expert.
Health Tips
Main cause for OSMF is tobacco/ arecanut chewing. It is a precancerous condition. To prevent it, a person should avoid tobacco chewing and there are nicotine substitutes available in market.
