Hard stool is due to lack of water or fiber in your diet or if stool is staying in colon for longer period of time. Ensure that you are taking 3-4 liters of water per day and taking good amount of fiber in your diet. You can take some over the counter laxatives if however your symptoms are not improving you should talk to a gastroenterologist
