Hallucination and visualisation
I am gopal pal .my mother is suffering to mental illness. Hallucination ,visualisation and doubting to nebours. this is happened with her third time .first time when she was 25 year then she recovered by itself. second during holi 2020. When she took some medicine under consultant of mind doctor and she was well but she didn't take full course of medicine only 3 moths took the medicine . she is  illiterate. She don't understand about it. Third is now .same symptoms.she always refused to take medicine. I had read about electroconvulsive therapy. Can we apply apon her. Please sir give proper advice

ECT requires assessment first. There are many other forms of treatment including tablets and depot injections. However compliance needs to be assured.

Please don't self treat your mother, she will require further evaluation. There are multiple medications for treatment of thus condition. There are even injections which can be given once a month. ECT has specific indications.

If she was refusing to took medicine. Then you can give mouth dissolvable form medicine to her. U can mix that medicine in any liquid diet what she was taking.
