Hair Colour Reaction on Skin
Hi, My mom has been applying Hair colour for quite some time and everything was going smoothly. But suddenly one day the same hair colour had some reaction with the skin just behind the ears. Due to that the whole part got swollen. And then after sometime we again tried the colour but same thing happened. We are unable to understand what is causing this problem. Due to non application of colour, my mother's hair have dried and hairfall is very much. Kindly suggest what can we do in this situation and how can we improve the hair quality.

Stop applying the hair colour as it is not at all suited to her skin . She has might have developed allergic contact dermatitis. Provide with photos so that accurate diagnosis can be made and treatment can be given to you accordingly

Hair coloring products contain many ingredients that can irritate the skin and cause allergic reactions. Most cases of allergic contact dermatitis stemming from exposure to hair dye are caused by an ingredient called PPD and Ammonia. Hair dye does not stop or even slow down hair growth, but it can cause hair loss by damaging the colour-treated hair. The chemicals in hair dye can cause some of the damage. But you can experience an increase in hair shedding with frequent colouring sessions. Telogen effluvium is the medical name for a form of hair loss.
