Should I start GYM 3 months after left leg tibia fracture?
I had an accident 3 months back. I've had a fracture in left tibia. Doctors operated it and now I have a plate with 7 screws.
Physiotherapist has suggested few ankle and toe strengthening exercises for normal range of motion also use of resistance band. I've not been able to perform those at home due to negligence.
Can I start working out my upper body in GYM with strengthening exercises I know for legs?
Whether Exercising in GYM affects healing process of the bone?
Why would my orthopedic consultant suggest not to go to GYM area for 1 year?

The tibia is a major bone in the body and if your muscles are not strengthened in your leg gym can cause a load on your fracture and the Tibia bone usually takes 6-9 months to just heal and then it will take another 2-3 months to gain strength and if you have not got full movements back and full strength back it will be cause unnecessary stress on the bone so 2-3 months waiting further before you join the gym will not cause you any harm just have patience and follow the surgeons advice
