Gummy smile
My girlfriend has a gummy smile. When she smiles her gum appears much more which is not a good sight. Dentist had advised gingectomy or botox. I dont want to do surgery & botox Is useful for 6 month only. Is there any permanent solution other than surgery. If yes plz advised where to treat.

Surgical repositioning of the lip is the permanent  solution.  Botox is temporary  and it's effect is reversible.  Basically  Botox works  by temporary paralysis of muscles. So better go for surgical procedure

Orthodontic treatment might help. Too much of a gummy smile may need an orthognthic surgery .
Next Steps
First go for a Cephalometric Xray and take an opinion from orthodontist.

Surgical method n BOTOX r d only 2 options. Surgical treatment is invasive n permanent, whereas BOTOX is simple, painless, convinient , plus u also get to know if u like d changes or not. Just Gingivectomy will increase crown length of teeth- a factor to b considered.
