Gout causing shooting pain in great toe
Sharp shooting pain recurs now and then in the first metacarpophalengeal joint! However the pain subsides on taking medication Uric acid is with in normal limit Which foods to avoid to avoid this pain? Or anything to prevent recurrence of this Not taking alcohol or meat/ high protein content

The site of pain is typical for gouty arthritis.
Next Steps
I will suggest you to continue medicines for reducing the inflammation and also get your blood tests done for CBC, ESR, CRP levels as well. No need of uric acid test if done recently..
