My mom is taking Ganaton Total tablet since 1 year started due to GERD(40mg) 2 tab per day for 6 months and reduced to (40mg) 1 tab per day since 6 month and totally 1 year completed. Now she has no symptoms and she wants to stop that PPI. How can she stop that? She is now currently taking 1 tab (40mg) since 6 months daily.
Can she start taking 1 tab for alternative days to taper off?

No need to taper GERD medications. Once the treatment course is completed you can stop. If she has symptoms again, pls consult the doctor
