Dear Doctor:
My cousin had gallstones largest being 1.3 cm..Last year in Nov 2015..he had acute pancreatitis and was taken medications which is resolved after 3 most..He was advised for laparoscopic cholecystectomy after 3 months at that time. Unfortunately, he did not do at that time. Now repeat ultrasound showing gallstones with largest being 1.7 cm..He is now being told that laparoscopic cholecystectomy is not possible given the size of the stone.. we are little restraint with open cholecystectomy..Plz could you advise..
