My husband is 39year old he smoke. In his x-ray report is mention that .bronchovascular markings are prominent with increased inter costal space.and both domes of diaphragm are flattened .what is the meaning of this content . And precision he has to take plz tell me Thanks

Hi. I understand your concern s. It is suggestive of bronchitis. He will need to undergo a pulmonary function test which is needed for the diagnosis as well as to assess severity of bronchitis based on which treatment can be started. Consult a pulmonologist for the same at the earliest.

The above findings are suggestive of hyperinflation of lungs. This is because of smoking...i would advice you to stop smoking.

X-ray report means the patient has probably COPD- Chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease-in simple terms It's is obstruction in the airway as a result of damage caused due to long standing smoking. Smoking causes damage to the lungs causing loss of elastic recoil which normally lung has and there by lungs become hyperinflated and domes of diaphragm become flat

U need to undergo spirometry to diagnose the condition and the severity of disease
