Fractured teeth
I tripped and fell down, fracturing my front teeth. One tooth completely came off and the other 2 got fractured. I immediately visited a nearby dentist and he put the tooth back and put braces on my teeth. He asked me to wait for 2 weeks to see if the nerves catch hold of the tooth. If it does, how much time will it take for me to get the broken teeth repaired? Will it be done in one sitting and I just have to go for checkups later or will it take multiple sessions? If the tooth doesn't get fixed, how long will a root canal treatment take?

It will take long time for the teeth to set,,a root canal treatment may need upto 4-5 sittings or more depending upon the type of infection it has.

Ma'am,the best treatment for a reimplanted tooth is root canal treatment and immobilisation with braces or wiring.you can wait for that tooth to take up as prescribed by your dentist., meanwhile you can start treatment on the two other fractured teeth .T he treatment depends on the amount of breakage of the tooth,if the fracture is very close to the tooth nerve, then a root canal treatment and crown is recommended. If the the break is very small then a composite (tooth coloured filling) build up will do.Regarding root canal treatment,it can be done in a single sitting, unless the tooth is infected, then it might need multiple sittings.whether it is infected or not can be checked with an x ray of the tooth.
