While eating dinner tonight I coughed while food was in my mouth. I am now convinced that I have a small piece of food stuck in my sinus area as it slightly burns and I seem to be producing a fair amount of mucus. Should I wait fo it to pass (if it can) or go see a doctor? Thanks

There is no way any good particle can get stuck in paranasal sinuses. There is chance that food particles can get lodged inside nasal cavity which can cause foreign body reactions. You need to undergo diagnostic nasal endoscopy to confirm the diagnosis
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
