Trachoma is a infection caused by an organism called Chlamydia trachomatis, which isnot a fly! It is all but eliminated in India. It is report able to WHO now. It is spread by contact mainly. I have not seen a single proven case in the last 25 years of my practice. Papillary hypertrophy of allergic conjunctivitis is often confused with follicles caused by trachoma infestation.
