First trimester Blood Clots

Asked for Female, 29 Years

My wife is 7 weeks pregnant with twins and 3 days back she had heavy bleeding with blood clots. Had an ultrasound and found both baby hearbeats are fine but the doctor was able to find blood clots outside the placenta and advised everything is fine and asked to take rest. Today my wife had blood spots (dark red). Please advice if this is normal
