First Gout attack!!
It was around 9:30 p.m, 17th Feb, when i was about to leave my chair in the workstation to get up snd leave for home, i felt an unusual pain in my left big toe. I almost limped all the way to the parking. It was 19th Feb morning when i consulted orthopaedics. Without a second doubt he prescribed me 3 tests ( TSH, Uruc Acid, blood sugar). I was damn sure that nothing could be wrong. To my utter surprise below were the results Uric acid: 8 mg/ dl TSH: 6.4 ulU/ml Blood sugar:81 mg/dl Cholesterol: 216 mg/dl Next day i got to hear that i am a victim of gout. Doctor directed me to meet physician Since then It is been more than 12 days now..i am still suffering from extreme pain(unable to step, walk properly). Pain is just unbearable and not just getting away. I am taking following medicines 1. Movon-p for pain 2. Tendo care 3. Feburic 40 mg for uric acid 4. Eltrouin 25 mg 5. Rosavel 5mg. how long will i suffer?? please suggest some way out before i die of this unbearable pain!! :(

Gout is extremely painful condition due to the inflammation which starts from big toe, without proper control it might cause inflammation in major joints. Obesity also is a key factor so weight management is a must. Few lifestyle and dietary changes helps in reducing reoccurrence of gouty arthritis attack.

consult a nutritionist as soon as possible and alter few dietary intakes which will help you.

diet and nutrition : avoid all highly processed food, beverage especially alcohol, non vegetarian food, purine  rich diet, fast food etc. avoid high intake of curd, yogurt, cheese, paneer and thick milk. drink plenty of water throughout the day(not large amount at a time) . drink citrus fruit juice   * Orange. ( only fresh fruits, no added sugar ) avoid fructose corn syrup. these are brief dietary changes, for further details consult nutritionist. exercise : moderate exercise is a must for your body, yoga is always a better option which works on body mind and soul. 1 hour of good physical activity helps to utilize the protein and avoid excess uric acid in your body. with regards, Dr. Shreedevi Ravishankar
