Fingure injury
HI, My wife injured her fingure while washing clothes. Looks like corrosion / burn like thing happened. It seems detergent powder has damaged the fingure. We have been applying Soframycin ointment. But the pain is still there. Not sure whether an antibiotic will he helpful. Please advise. Regards, Saura Tripathy

Your wife may be suffering from hand  eczema which is a kind of irritant contact dermatitis due to use of detergents during washing of clothes or utensils. Cracks and thickened skin on palms can also be due to psoriasis. Please avoid detergent for some time. You can consult me with photos for detailed prescription and other instructions to reduce the recurrence.
