Fever after cholecystectomy
My mother 55 years old had cholecystectomy two days back. Her otherwise recovery is okay. But since yesterday she is having fever around 100 and 100.5 in the evening . After taking paracetamol tablet ,fever gets normal. But is it something to worry ? Or is it okay.

Hi, I am Dr. Charles Mano Sylus from Chennai. Was it an open or laparoscopic surgery and after surgery, did she come to the room with a drain in her and secondly is her abdomen distended or bloated and associated with pain. You can take a usg abdomen to see if there is any intra abdomen finding post surgery and if not checked for covid, pls repeat. But pls do consult your primary surgeon and get her examined

It can be a case of post-op fever due to anaesthesia or surgery. It can get normalize with time by 2-3days. Have normal diet and medications.
