Feeling discomfort while using spectical

I have just visited a famous eye hospital for eye check up. They were prescribed the glasses having both spherical and cylindrical powers (cylindrical power is higher then the spherical power) .but now the problem is i feel considerable discomfort while using that specticals,can you please tell me the reason why this is happening.
