My grandmother had previously undergone-surgery on both legs at different times for-fractures in the hip due to falls. She recovered from both and was able to walk using a walker. Since last week when she had a perceived fall, she started having fear of walking and is unable to walk.
Can a psychiatrist prescribe some mild medication for this phobia treatment. She is now unable to self serve her needs

A counsellor would be more helpful than a psychiatrist and meditation. She needs help in changing her perceptions rather than medication. Please seek the help of a counsellor.
