My eyes feels stressed and burning in evening. I am IT professional so most of my work is with computer. Everyday during evening I am unable to open my eyes. Also feels like some foreign particles in my eyes. I checked my thyroid, bp, sugar and everything normal. Doctors prescribed tear drops but it doesnt seem effective. Any permanent solution to this problem.

Foreign body sensation burning is sign of dryness (computer Vision syndrome) because you don't know how to work on computer for long hours without giving any trouble to your eye. When working on computer number of blinking goes down from around 24per minute to around 8 minute causing severe dryness causing all these problems. Prolonged working on laptop/TV/mobile can cause computer vision syndrome. Computer vision syndrome is a condition resulting from focusing the eyes on a computer or other display device for, uninterrupted periods of time. Some symptoms of cvs include
a. Headaches
b blurred vision
c. Neck pain
d redness in the eyes
e. Eye strain
f dry eyes
sometimes watery eyes
these symptoms can be further aggravated by improper lighting conditions.
Measures to reduce this include
1. Work under proper light.
2. Blink a lot.
3. Cold compresses
4. Use good lubricating eyedrop frequently
