I experienced temporary blackening out in the left eye for 10-15 seconds yesterday.It has happened with me 2 years back also.

It could be a retinal problem or Apart from eyes it could be due to low BP or postural hypotension or hypoglycaemia. Please consult an ophthalmologist nearby and also a physician.

This could be a thrombo embolic phenomenon. Meaning a blood clot transiently blocking blood vessel in the retina and then getting dislodged. You may undergo a complete cardiac check up, doppler studies of blood vessels in the lower limbs and carotid system as well and coagulation profile.
