First of all the treatment for anxiety should be taken for 3-6 months and then slowly decrease 10-> 5mg -> then stop. This is to prevent something called discontinuation syndrome which means slight worsening or reappearance of symptoms when a drug is stopped.STALOPAM is ESCITALOPRAM whis is an anti anxiety anti depressant and does not cause dependence hence no withdrawal either. This is not a ' psychotic' medication .On long term use you won't have any major side-effects, initially some people experience nausea , gastritis, changes in libido , delayed ejaculation which are self resolving and very mild
Next Steps
For severe anxiety you must continue the same medicine for 3-6 months and also initiate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Health Tips
Don't worry about taking an SSRI it will definitely improve your quality of life decrease anxiety and distress.Be physically active ,make sure ur Thyroid functions are normal and supplement Vitamin D3 60000 IU 1 /week for 4 weeks
