You need to meet an Allergist. First and foremost, you need to undergo Skin-Prick Tests for Allergy to identify the actual allergens that your immune system has been sensitised. Then the Allergist will counsel you on how best to avoid that particular allergen. If however the allergen is unavoidable, you will need to undergo desensitisation by SLIT therapy (Sub-Lingual Immuno-Therapy). This is the only sure-shot treatment for allergies, but it is a Long term treatment which takes 4-5 years. In the meanwhile your local ENT Surgeon in collaboration with your Allergist will be give you symptomatic treatments with intranasal corticosteroid sprays, antihistamine tablets, saline nasal washes and eye irrigation kits to keep you comfortable.
Next Steps
if you do not find an Allergist in your town, you are welcome to come down to Bangalore and meet me and let me help you. I will then work along with your local ENT doctor to give you a lasting solution.
