Dravet syndrome
My daughter aged 4 years. She is taking medicine for fits for the past 3 years. We did genetic test. It showed dravet syndrome. Doc said we must give her medicine for life long. We are more worried about this. Is there any treatment for dravet syndrome? My question is at present we are giving her 2 medicine( topomac 1, valparin 4ml)in the morning and 3 medicine( topomac 1and half, frisium 1,valparin 4ml)in the night. My question today while giving valparin medicine she spit few outside. May be 1ml or below. Could it cause any side effects

You need to avoid triggers for seizures. If she’s seizure free roc 2/3 years, then her drug requirement and dosage will come down. Regarding spitting of 1 ml of the medicine, should be replaced with 1 ml of same drug, so as to maintain seizure free.
